Product Overview

The function of the Ground Isolation Assembly is to break the ground loop path between the Dynamic Disable drivers in the equipment room and the body coil in the magnet room. This ground loop is present in 1.5T Signa MR Systems with a BRM or CRM body coil configuration. The ground loop allows gradient coil generated noise onto the DD driver lines, which can lead to problems in the DD driver error detection circuitry within the Driver Module in Excite 3 systems. The Ground Isolation Assembly provides a low-loss RF transmission line (J1 to J2) that connects the output of the Body Hybrid Assembly J3 or J4 to the body coil via cable runs 743 and 744 while maintaining high ground isolation between the coil and hybrid assembly at low frequencies. The RF path is simply a 50-ohms transmission line. The grounds of the Isolation Assembly connectors are isolated with 6600 pF of capacitance. Two Ground Isolation Assemblies are used per system. The interface connections to the Ground Isolation Assembly are via male and female N style connectors. There are no potentially hazardous electrical signals exist on this assembly. The GE product is an innovation and technology which fits well into versatile customer needs. The part is diligently designed for high performance and reliability. It is securely packaged inside a high quality packing box to avoid physical damage during transit and labeled with details about the product, Quality Assurance (QA) seal and shipment details.
